Rio Grande Tex-Mex - Hutto in Hutto

So unhappy with the food, we use to love this place, it was our go to. Just ordered again and again the food was overcooked. My husband got the Shrimp Diablo and and again it was so burnt that he couldnt eat it. It is with a heavy heart that I have to say we wont be going back.

My family frequents the Hutto location. We love this place before the move. Food is still great (stuffed avocado with fajita is a must) and berry margaritas have great flavor and will do the job! Nervous after the relocation that the restaurant is going mainstream, almost impossible to find parking at their new location so be sure to avoid peak times. Drinks are still good but not quite the same.I still recommend trying out the food, it is still a great place to go regardless!

The place was recommended to me by my friend. It was amazing. Delicious food, very affordable price. Friendly service by Jenny. And delicious margaritas. I definitely have this place on my favorite now.

This is your typical Tex-Mex restaurant. Chips and salsa, good margaritas, decent food and service. If your looking to eat a bunch of Tex-Mex and hang out with family and friends at a good price, then go here. If you want amazing food, this isn't the place. Decor is good and the place is big. Overall I'm between 3 and 4 star. I gave the bump because the wife liked it.

Last night we ordered dinner for the first time. We have gotten their breakfast tacos, and they have been great, so we decided to try some other food. Dinner was disappointing. We got a taco kids meal, and extra taco on the side. The meat smelt like dog food and it was really undercooked. No flavor from the 1 bite my kiddo took before realizing it was undercooked. Luckily I also ordered a kids chimichanga and that was good. We also got bean and cheese nachos. The beans were extremely overcooked and the nachos soggy so I couldnt eat them. The tamales were decent, but not so great either. The queso and salsa were great. Dessert was dry and the honey was old. We will definitely get breakfast tacos in the future, but lunch/dinner not a chance. Had to throw away most of the food as it wasnt edible

Service quick. I ordered enchiladas they were not the best, plus order was wrong. Queso dip just tast like basic american cheese... not so great. Salsa was good rice and beans were good. Dont think I'll be returning here

Overall pretty good tex mex restaurant. It gets cold and crowded and the salsa is spicy. Good prices amd better tortillas.

Really nice outdoor patio with bar to enjoy an evening meal. Typical Tex-Mex with lots of great menu choices to select from. Quick service. A bit awkward during COVID-19 restrictions but you have to use your phone to read the website menu. Should be workable. Would help if their WI-FI was reliable.

We like going here. We've eaten here about 5 times. Margaritas are great. Food is excellent. Service is good. Prices are reasonable. I wish they would update their booth seating. Some of them are in really bad shape.

Food was enjoyable. Service was fast but the cost of a margarita was a little pricey in my mind hence the 4 star. I would go back for the food again. They were good about keeping drinks full and salsa full. They have outdoor seating that looked nice but it was too cold to try out the night I went.

Great food and great service too. Plenty of choices for every taste and appetite. Our server was wonderful and very helpful too. He was extremely friendly and eager to answer my questions and offer his assistance.

AMAZING margaritas!! Service is always good. Food isn’t the greatest but it’s not bad by any means. Recommend going just for the margs.

Ordered pick up and the food brought back many memories of the Rio Grande Valley. First time I tried this restaurant since moving here 5 years ago. Definitely won’t be my last!

Tried the new location very trendy vibes ! It also had a casino restaurant vibe . Food still great ! The service was not as great for he must have been new .

Been eating at this place for a long time. I really love the new place. Definitely eat outside if it's not too hot because it is such a great outside area. The wait staff is fast an attentive the drinks are always wonderful. it's a great place to chill out in Hutto.

The staff and management here is wonderful! Long story short we had a miscommunication about scheduling and we walked in thinking we had scheduled a table for a large networking group. We messed up on OUR END, and despite that, the manager Priscilla Orona and her staff said "no problem" and they put together tables, opened up the kitchen early, got the TV ready for our presentation, and got drinks and food orders seamlessly! The foods is great and the service is even better!! A HUGE THANK YOU to Priscilla and her staff!!

Food was great, wait staff friendly and helpful. Social Distancing rules in place. I felt safe eating here.

Took on too many orders at once and never got my food to go. Never answered the phone when I called. Avoid the restaurant if you don't want a headache. Food is subpar anyways. Won't eat there again.

This place is my favorite Tex Mex place in the Austin area. Their chips and salsa are literally the best I've ever had. The consistency and spiciness is always on point.

This was our first time here. We will be back. Food was great. Margaritas were frosty and strong.

The manager of this place is beyond miserable! Called ahead to make sure they accept the entertainment coupon and was told over the phone after someone actually asked to be sure… Showed up and showed coupon to my server who took my phone to the manager… I could see her shaking her head from across the room the whole time he was talking to her… I’m thinking to myself, is this for real? She comes to the table and says they have no coupons… That’s when I told her that I actually called ahead to be sure first and she kept saying they had no coupons even though I am showing her the coupon on my phone… She basically called me a liar, I told her to ask the employees, which one had spoken to me to which she replied we have no coupons almost like” no ingles, no ingles” ...avoid at all costs!!!

We used to love this place when it was at the old location but for some reason the food was terrible today at the new location. My husbands enchiladas were not baked all together. Like they took a tortilla, stuffed it, poured the sauce over it and served it to us. It was really just soft tacos with enchilada sauce poured over it. The beef inside the enchiladas were flavorless. I hope they can get it together.

I had the Shrimp Enchiladas. Whilst the shrimp were a decent size the flavour was lacking. My partner had the Cheese Enchiladas, and was sadly unimpressed.On the plus side their Chips n Salsa were a big hit with my partner.They need to work out a system for cleaning and clearing the tables also. When we arrived there were a number of tables that had dirty dishes on them. They remained that way for minimum 30 minutes(yes I timed it) and as long as 42 minutes. A person grabbed the check, another a few glasses, then another a couple of items, very unprofessional leaving tables filthy for so long, especially since people were coming in constantly.They also need to look at their bench seats, a few of them are broken and quite uncomfortable to sit on. Also one lot of bench seats were blocking an emergency exit, which I am reasonably certain is a breach of fire safety laws.

It was nice to actually eat inside a restaurant. It was a great place for a girls lunch. Food and service was excellent.

This is a Hutto staple. Good food decently priced. Experts at getting tasty lunches out quickly. Recoomend the #7 lunch. Wifey loves the cactus fruit margaritas.

Very accommodating restaurant. Great service and great selection of drinks and beverages. Inside and outside seating with TVs for sports. Food is good and served relatively quickly. I will certainly go back.

WOW! new store on Ed Schmidt, serious upgrade! Dined inside just a few days ago for first time- my review of food/service same as my older reviews of previous location. Photos I posted are just small part of entire restaurant. Spacious dining room, bigger party room, huge bar/outside dining, circular driveway out front - Huge upgrade! Tasty cuisine, great service, friendly staff. Clean restaurant always has clean restrooms and always lots of customers; but never so crowded you can't get a table. Can bring the kids, a family reunion, or come with a friend for a drink and a taco

This ever popular Hutto Mexican restaurant reliably serves all the standard dishes at decent prices. Service was prompt and servers were friendly and cheerful. Beer and mixed drinks also available.

One of the best local Tex-Mex places in the greater Austin area. Even on Fridays the drinks are quick and the food faster. Victor is one of the best servers I've had at any restaurant. Great prices, great atmosphere, and even better food. 10/10

New building is nice. Food can be hit or miss. Queso however is always good.

I love that they updated the space, but the service is horrible. I have came to the new location 3x and each time we were not greeted by a staff member for 20 minutes. (Mind you, it is not busy) And it has taken close to 30 minutes for our drink order to be taken. And to top it off, when we mentioned it to the manager and waitress, they were unapologetic and short with us. Hopefully, they will have a little pow-wow and come up with a plan to provide more customer service and a friendly atmosphere.

New location is good. The menu is still not impressive as it's specials does not actually contain anything special.
